THE STORY

Enter once. Stay in the heart forever.

Arty Perfume Cabinet Prague is a place where fragrance, paper, craftsmanship and history meet. Hidden in the heart of Malá Strana, the cabinet occupies a remarkable historical space dating back to 1351. The building stands on land once donated by Emperor Charles IV, formed part of the Augustinian monastery complex for centuries, and originally served as a monastery bakery. Today, Arty Perfume Cabinet Prague is a hidden monastery of scent in the heart of Prague.

When I first entered the space in 2022, it was far from what visitors see today. Forgotten and neglected, it required years of work, patience and belief. What followed was a four-year transformation carried out without investors, supported only by determination, craftsmanship and a vision.

Arty Perfume Cabinet was created as an alternative to fast consumption and mass-produced experiences. It is an intimate olfactory space dedicated to fragrance, contemplation and slowing down. A place of quietness in the centre of a busy city, where visitors are invited to pause, create with their hands and reconnect with their senses. The cabinet combines traditional bookbinding techniques, handmade papers, textures, structures, brass embossing tools and a carefully curated fragrance library. Designed as a haptic and olfactory experience, it invites visitors to explore fragrance through touch as much as through scent. Every object created here becomes a personal memory infused with fragrance.

More than a workshop, Arty Perfume Cabinet is an invitation to enter a hidden world. A world where perfume is not only worn, but experienced. A world inspired by the atmosphere of the former monastery, where silence, attention and craftsmanship once shaped everyday life. Today, visitors from around the world are welcomed into this intimate space to create scented artefacts, discover forgotten crafts and become part of an ongoing story.
